Sorry for the long absence...man has it been a brutal fall.
How have my readers been? Healthy I hope. Bean had the Flu twice in October and has been suffering with stomach troubles which we hope to get a handle on starting Monday when we go to a specialist.
My kids are all growing like weeds, Cookie turns two tomorrow, so I no longer have a 'baby' to take care of. Cookie, Sunshine and Little Man are all thinking about potty training, some are thinking about it more then others. Cookie will tell me (sometimes) when she wants to 'pee' on the potty, Sunshine tells me after he's 'pooped' in his diaper (pee doesn't bother him), and Little Man tells me "no potty, I got use diaper" but he will come get me when he wants changed, so it's progress. I keep telling him we can't find him a wife if he smells like that so he needs to start using the potty...then he tells me "you so funny" and he snorts/laughs at me. Apparently I have a great sense of humor.
Little Man has also found an imaginary friend named "Arnold" which is totally normal for his age (2 1/2). Arnold spends alot of time in the truck at home but occasionally makes a visit to my house wanting in the front door. Yesterday Little Man had a tantrum, which he's VERY good at, because I wouldn't allow the front door to hang open so that Arnold could come inside when he got here. Had it been warmer then 18 degrees outside I would have relented, but I'm a bit old fashioned and I don't like frozen children so I closed the door...and the fight was on! I'm talking about an extraordinary tantrum with swinging arms, stomping feet and tears! Wow!
Bean had an imaginary friend when she was little (named Amy). Amy lived in 'Outlet World' and often traveled, with Bean, to Lava World. A child's imagination is so limitless and fascinating to me, since no one has told them "that's not possible" they really do go where no 'man' has gone before. I remember one afternoon we were at my mother-in-laws house and Bean showed her grandma a mark on her arm, it was about the size of a pinto bean. Anyway grandma wanted to know what happened and Bean replies, "I fell in the Lava at Amy's house."
Thank God Bean was telling her grandma this story and not a DFS agent! Really...Lava...in Missouri...you know it's the really outlandish stories that get the attention of the authorities.
JuJuBe is now in first grade! The first few weeks of school she'd come home and sit and do homework with the older kids...bigshot, lol, but the new's worn off of that...now she comes home and heads straight for the pantry, then off to play with Sissy and Allie Oop.
Sissy and Allie are four year olds now, what happened to my babies! Four year olds...translate independant know it alls. They question EVERYTHING I say and do...in fact "Terrie what're you doing now" is one of their favorite sentences and is usually followed by the question of coming with me or helping me do whatever it is I'm doing. Some days it just comes down to "I'm gonna go pee for goodness sakes, entertain yourselves for one minute, and I'll be right back" There are some things I've mastered in my life and taking a pee in peace and quiet's one of them.
Still love my kids more then anything and I'll be writing to 'catch you up' on their antics...bye for now T.
